Frida & Banksy

Everyone who loves their dogs says that their dogs are the best. And they're right. Which is why I can say that these two are the best.

Meet Frida & Banksy, a bonded brother & sister that never stray far from one another. They're so close and thoughtful of each other that once I watched Banksy nab a cookie from the counter, toss it on the floor to Frida, then get himself one. They went back to "their" couch, ate their cookies together, then went to sleep. Again.

They are the gentlest, sweetest dogs I've ever had, which is made more amazing by their history. They were rescued from a South Korean meat farm in 2020, flown to the States, then rehabilitated and socialized as part of a cooperative rescue program between the US & South Korea. Cool & not so cool at the same time. We often wonder what it was like for them in that situation. One thing we've come to find likely is that the permanently bald spots on their heads were caused by spiked metal used to force them to lie in their cages to help keep their meat tender.

Regardless of where they started out, they're home now. As you might imagine, they are doted on constantly, and we couldn't be happier to have them and to be able to keep them together.
